I have known Professor El-Hawary since my early years at the University of Waterloo. His contributions to knowledge and technology in the forms of authoring and co-authoring very useful books and very high-quality journal papers are impressive. His dedication in service to IEEE is admirable. He will be able to continue and expand his invaluable service to the technical community in the position of IEEE Division VII Director.
