I have known Mo El-Hawary for about 40 years. We have served on several Power Engineering Society committees and subcommittees together. I can think of only a handful of people who have done as much as Mo El-Hawary for the engineers of IEEE. His influence in getting new forms of technical communication such as PES Letters is one example.

Mo El-Hawary is one of those people without which we could never have a working professional society – he is an eager volunteer for jobs that others are too busy to carry out, and he always puts in an outstanding effort and achieves the goals that were set for him.

I strongly recommend that IEEE members vote for Mo El-Hawary for IEEE Division VII Director. I am confident he will do an outstanding job and will contribute as much in this position as he has over his career to the Power Engineering Society.
