I have known Professor El-Hawary for 30 years. I am very impressed by his vast accomplishments in the area of electric power and energy systems. He is the author of several well received books as well as hundreds of high quality papers.
El-Hawary dedication to the IEEE society is highly admirable. His always keen interest in advancing the society and creating support communities for IEEE make him uniquely qualified for the Director position.
