“I welcome the opportunity to support the candidacy of Dr. Mo El-Hawary for election as 2009 Director-Elect for Division VII. I have known Mo for more than ten years and served IEEE with him in many capacities. I was Chair of the Toronto Section when Mo was Region 7 Director and President of IEEE Canada, and have also been involved with him on various committee assignments. I find Mo a very devoted volunteer and conduct his responsibilities in a very professional manner. He is a leader and a team player.
Dr. El-Hawary's accomplishments in IEEE speak for themselves particularly as a volunteer leader in the Power Engineering Society. I note his work as Chair of Life Long Learning has resulted in a structured approach to Tutorial development and delivery, and his service as Founding Editor of the Power Engineering Letters is testimonial to his dedication.
His very recent experience on the Board of IEEE will serve the membership of PES well, and I am very pleased that Mo is willing to serve our Society in this new capacity.”
